Expecting another Baby Krivachek- August 2016!

We are thrilled that we will be adding another baby to our family August 2016 with and estimated due date of August 8th, 2016.  I found out very early again on Thanksgiving night, talk about something to be thankful for!  I contemplated whether to pick up the blog again for number two but I selfishly love looking back on the pregnancy with Blake.  You will be surprised on how much you actually forget after those 9 months.  Looking back some things make me laugh, and I can't believe I gained 45 pounds!!  Holy COW!  Well one thing I learned is who cares about the weight because it does eventually come off with a little hard work and now I am below pre-pregnancy weight, so really it all doesn't matter in the long run. We plan on telling our family over Christmas with some custom wine bottle labels found on Etsy.  We have our first dating ultrasound Dec. 21st and I pray everything is well and we see the little heartbeat.  It sure is crazy looking at Blake's 7 week ultrasound and seeing just a little "bean" and then looking at him now, the human body is simply amazing!  I look forward to this beautiful journey again as this will probably complete our family.  Thanks for joining us on this adventure as we prepare, and celebrate baby Krivachek number two!!

**** The pictures are when I told Jason.  in the bag was a bottle brush that said "return to duty August 2016."  He was said when he no longer had to clean bottles so I thought it was a cute idea.  He was VERY SHOCKED!  We both kind of were :)

36 Weeks

Things are much better than the past few weeks.  Week 34 & 35 were rough on me both emotionally and physically.  I was in pain, uncomfortable, and felt like it was never going to end.  Thanks to an awesome massage therapist and chiropractor I feel SOOO much better.  I am still walking and spinning every week.  My Monday spin class has me there the next 3 classes, they will know if I am not there that I went into labor.   This week we put together everything besides the swing, and car seat.  Baby's bag is packed and mine is almost done, just need to find a nightgown for hospital in dark colors.  The countdown is on and I can't wait to meet this little one.  Tomorrow 2/5 we find of if I am dilated or effaced along with the Strep B test.

33 Weeks

Sorry, I am slacking on these updates.  I LOVE looking back at all the weeks to remember each little stage.  It is super fun that whit is pregnant to and can reference what I was going through during that week.  I have really learned that each pregnancy is completely different for each person and don't think there is really a norm.  I have heard people say how much the weight gain comes on in the 3rd trimester where it has been different for me where I gained all 30 lbs so far from week 17-32.  nothing in 1st trimester at all.  Everyone is going to be completely different.

I am excited for the growth scan next Monday to see how baby is growing.  I feel so incredibly huge and now I feel awful for comments I have made to pregnant women before who I thought were going to pop/explode around this time and wonder how the heck they were going to make it any longer.  Well, I am one of those pregnant ladies who looks like she can pop anytime and will for the next few weeks.

Things have been pretty boring/calm around the Krivachek household. I still am struggling with getting the nursery the way I like it.  I am in frantic clean mode all the time and feel like I need a deep clean every week when really it is clean.  I want to do the walls, lights, fans, and windows until they look brand new!  I think my mom is going to come mid Feb to do one last super clean before baby comes and make sure I have everything to go.  It is driving me nuts I can't easily get on the floor and scrub stuff.  I wonder if this clean freak in me will stay after baby?  I hope so but I think it drives some a little nuts.

Stretch Marks:  Doing WAY better than ever expected.  No new ones!

32 Weeks

Back to Normalcy a bit and at moments I want the time to fly by and then others I just love it being just J & I.  Only a few more weeks and that will all be changing.  I keep thinking about if I will go early or late and I have no idea.  I have a very strong feeling
that baby will be a boy the last month or two!  I think I would be surprised if it was a girl!  We have almost everything we need at this point besides more diapers.  Waiting to do a reorder based on the baby when born.  Also for anyone who is in Dubuque I am looking for someone to raid Baby Gap once we know the sex and size to get all the cute clothes.  No Baby Gap here :(  I love their stuff!
I have really bad Insomnia now and wake up quite often and will go out to the couch & watch TV so I don't bother Jason.  The thing is I don't even feel super tired during the day... good practice for those sleepless nights with baby.  ( I am honestly looking forward to it)  One thing that I can't stand is when other parents always say "oh just you wait"  to things that are not the most pleasant things.  I understand it's hard at times but I prefer to have a positive outlook and enjoy those hard moments.  But, I have always liked a little bit of hard work :) Obviously it can't be too bad so many people have more than 1!

31 Weeks

We enjoyed Christmas sooo much and had a wonderful time seeing family & friends.  It sure is a different experience being pregnant with added perks.  I was laying on the couch and my dad told Addy to get up and help with something and Addy said what about me.  Dad said I needed to rest!! HAHAHAHA, I said I am fine and got up to help, but I think I will miss the pregnancy excuse :)  It felt weird coming back home to a quiet house in North Liberty after a crazy holiday.  My "nesting" kicked in right away with wanting to clean & organize.  I hope it stays this way because I love having everything be "perfect".  I am getting super anxious and excited for this little baby to come with less than 60 days now!  Oh and it is official that my sister is also expecting in June!!!  I am super excited to have little ones close in age.  they will be finding out the sex in early Feb. So I am sure we will be dying to find out even more.

30 Weeks

Almost everything I read about the Glucose drink is that it is awful, well I didn't think it was bad at all besides knowing I was consuming 50g of sugar in a matter of seconds. Went to the lab an hour later to get the blood draw and I PASSED!! WOOOHOOO. Jason was able to come to this appointment too and heard the heartbeat again along with the belly measure which was about 29, so maybe we won't have a HUGE baby?  Jason is hoping for a March baby for March madness, me on the other hand not so much.   I also got "the talking to"  about my weight gain :( she said I look great and can't tell I have gained that much but might want to consider changing diet and increasing intensity on workouts. She wants to see if I can only gain 1 pound over the next 2 weeks..... AHHHH the HOLIDAYS?!?  (going to the nice scale next time)  So instead of 10 cookies I will have 1 and make sure I get 60 min of cardio in a day :)  I am HOPING this works!  I thought I would be that healthy eating pregnant lady all the way through and that went out the door around umm week 16 & I don't feel ALL that bad I had my fun now it is back to health.  It will give me a good head start postpartum, I sure don't want to be carrying around the extra weight come June at my first triathlon post baby :)  Jason & I celebrated our 1 Year anniversary and went to Dinner at Fried Green in Galena, and had some cake :) I am so lucky to have a husband like Jason and can't wait for many more years together.  I love him too much!

3rd Trimester Must-Haves

I searched the internet looking for 3rd trimester must-haves and a lot were paid reviewers, so I decided to give my list of must-haves.  If only there was something for sleep :)  What are things that helped you get through your last trimester?

1. Bio Oil- I love bio oil because it feels great on the skin and I really think it helps with stretch marks.  I started to see some sprout and this really helps them stop/fade.  Any stretch mark I have is very light or white and only can be seen in certain lighting.

2. Palmers stretch mark cream-  I use this right after I put the bio-oil on and gives it a nice thick/smooth coat.  I would recommend using these together.

3. Earth Mamma organic tea- Yum, Yum, Yum!  I bought this on Amazon because of the good reviews and I am not dissapointed.  I will drink 1 cup a day until 36-37 weeks and increase.  This will not induce labor but prepare the uterus

4. Leggings-  Well, pants in general are not too comfortable.  if I could be pant less all day I would!  These are super comfy and stretchy.  I also got size M maternity pants and they had plenty of room in the beginning but starting to get a little tight in the legs.

29 Weeks

Photo: Heading to class! Birthing class :)
Aches, and pains, oh my!  Well, I think I have entered the uncomfortable stage already!  My back is killing me as a lug around an extra 20-25 pounds already!  I am starting to retain a lot of water too, and found my first stretch mark!  Even though all of this sounds awful, I still enjoy being pregnant.  I continue to workout at the gym and do prenatal yoga at home.
Saturday was our birthing class at the University of Iowa and we really enjoyed it.  The best part was getting a tour of labor &delivery & learning about different relaxation techniques.  All the nurses compared to running a marathon... piece of cake, right?  I really liked their mental power approach which I am all about.  I honestly believe you can train the mind to do anything and the body will follow.  I wasn't too into writing a birth plan but after the experience I think we definitely will.  They recommended putting 5-7 things that you feel strongly about so they can really make sure to help you with those.  I already have my wish list and excited to put it together :)  With Ian it was such a whirlwind that I really was not in a good place to focus nor do I really remember what was going on.  The good thing is I know I can get to 5cm without an epidural ( perfect timing they recommend getting one)  The rooms are very spacious and the staff all seemed really great.  It was also great for me to get some interaction with other adults in the area since I am home constantly.  The only other class we are doing is the breastfeeding class at the end of Jan.  Starting to wonder if I will go early or late!

How far along? 29 weeks

How big is baby?  Size  of a butternut Squash

Total weight gain/loss:   +20-25 really been bouncing around all week. Swollen/not swollen

Maternity clothes?  Yep!  Don't laugh.... I have a hard time keeping jeans on for more than a few hours, makes my legs feel claustrophobic... ok it's kinda funny

Sleep:  not great but I manage quite well, good practice I guess.

Best moment this week:   Birthing Class
Movement: Slowing down a bit, running out of room.  Still very active though

Food cravings:  French toast

Food Aversions: Still pickles

Gender:  ?? and not finding out ??

Labor Signs:  none besides the braxton hicks at night.
